Uniqlo has officially confirmed when it will be opening the doors its first ever store in Scotland later this month.

The popular Japanese apparel brand today announced that its highly anticipated store will open to the public on Thursday, April 25. It comes after the retailer first announced its plans for the store to open on Princes Street last year.

The new store is set to be housed across two-stories in an iconic, modernist purpose-built retail store. Fashion fans will find that it will offer them a spacious store that is said to cover 1,430sq.

While it will be the first time that Scots shoppers will be able to physically shop the popular brand, many of its products are popular online in the UK, including the brand's now iconic sell-out £14.90 bags.

Fans can expect the store to offer the full women’s, men’s, kids and baby ranges. There will also be some of Uniqlo's signature products including linen and BLOCKTECH, alongside water resistant-items and the AIRism collection that will be ideal for the Scottish climate.

To celebrate the opening, Uniqlo will be offering the first 100 customers through the door their very own goody bag. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to win a trip to Tokyo when they scan the Uniqlo app with any purchase.

Uniqlo has also partnered up with seven of the capital city's locals for the Edinburgh People campaign. This includes Balerno-raised musician Nina Nesbitt, freelance music journalist Aisha Fatunmbi-Randall and also leading whisky expert TJ Littlejohn.

Speaking of the new store, Alessandro Dudech, Chief Operating Officer at UNIQLO U.K said: "At UNIQLO, we are deeply committed to supporting and enriching the communities where we operate. The opening of our new store in Edinburgh represents an exciting opportunity to forge lasting connections with local residents, businesses and organisations.

"Edinburgh is a city of great cultural and historical heritage, and we are excited to partner with a few of the many people who help to make the city so vibrant. Together, we will show how LifeWear brings people together, transcending differences in everyday lives. We invite the people of Edinburgh to join us in celebrating the opening of our new store and to be part of this exciting milestone with us."
