ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man with a felony escape warrant was arrested after he was found driving a stolen vehicle, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

ECSO deputies responded to Interstate 10 and Davis Highway on April 8 after receiving reports of a stolen vehicle, according to a Facebook post.

When deputies found the vehicle, described as a blue Chevy Tahoe, they attempted to initiate a stop. Still, the driver, identified as Christian Isaiah Carter, 33, allegedly fled from them, “driving through a red light.”

The post states that during the chase, Carter veered off the road and hit a street sign at West Burgess Road and Maxam Street.

After crashing, Carter allegedly attempted to flee on foot. Deputies “quickly apprehended” him, according to the post.

While deputies were detaining Carter, they reportedly found him to be in possession of a green bag with a firearm.

Carter was arrested for knowingly driving with a suspended license, aggravated fleeing and eluding, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the post.
