HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) is investigating a woman accused of embezzling over $20,000.

According to jail records, Debra Kae Jeffrey was arrested on Monday evening and charged with first-degree theft of property for embezzling over $2,500.

A spokesperson for HPD told News 19 that police are investigating this theft, and it involves approximately $21,000.

A woman by the same name is listed as Secretary/Treasurer for Huntsville Community Watch on its website.

Jeffrey’s bond was set at $5,000, and jail records show she bonded out Monday around 11 p.m.
