Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a man dead in Brunswick County on Sunday.

The crash occurred on April 14 at 3049 Tanner Town Road. Sixty-four-year-old Gary Robert Johnson of Lawrenceville was driving a 2020 Dodge Charger northbound on Tanner Town Road when he entered a curve in the road while traveling at a high speed, police said. Johnson allegedly crossed over into the opposite lane and struck a concrete bridge guardrail. He died upon impact, according to VSP.
