The 2024 Met Gala is still weeks away, but Ariana Grande is ready now.
This week, the musician stopped by CinemaCon in Las Vegas alongside her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo to tease the forthcoming film. Deep in the throes of method dressing, the duo have been channelling their characters (Grande as Glinda and Erivo as Elphaba) with their outfits for some time now.
Styled by Mimi Cuttrell, Grande summoned her inner Good Witch in a look from Oscar de la Renta. The spring/summer 2024 minidress looked like an oversized flower blooming from her torso – complete with a yellow centre and pink-to-white gradient petals. She accessorised this over-the-top look with a pair of pointed-toe pumps and drop earrings.
Grande could easily walk the Met Gala red carpet in her floral frock. This year’s theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, will focus on garments too fragile to be worn again, and is interwoven with a strong nature element. The dress code, “The Garden of Time”, will likely beget plenty of elevated florals.
