Gas line strike causes shelter-in-place in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The San Francisco Fire Department issued a shelter-in-place Tuesday due to a gas line being struck in San Francisco’s Sunnyside neighborhood.

The leak occurred just before 11 a.m. due to a construction crew striking a gas line, leading to a gas leak on the 600 block of Joost Avenue in Sunnyside, officials said.

Pacific Gas & Electric was on the scene to fix the leak, fire officials said, which was repaired as of 1:35 p.m. Residents on the same block of Joose Avenue were asked to close their windows and doors before the shelter-in-place was lifted.
