PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (WPBF) - A teenager helped save the life of her father and several others after she died unexpectedly.

“I was praying for a miracle in the hospital. Her life was that miracle,” Symaria Glenn’s mother, Dhima Martin, said. “I love her and I miss her every day, every moment.”

Martin is now asking why did this happen to her daughter.

Thirteen-year-old Symaria was healthy and vibrant, but her life changed on Jan. 31.

“She complained of a headache. Unbeknownst to me how severe it was, her brain was bleeding. So, she was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to Joe DiMaggio,” Martin remembered.

Symaria was in the hospital for about a week before she died.

“I still believed in God to do the impossible, save her,” Martin added.

Her family made the decision to donate her organs, saving the lives of five people.

One of those lives was Symaria’s father.

He never told his kids he was on dialysis, but he was in dire need of a kidney transplant.

Symaria’s kidney helped save her father’s life.

“She would have wanted that. She would have wanted to save her father,” Martin said.

The tragedy also occurred just a couple days before Martin was about to get married.

“Went from a time to celebrate love to watching my daughter lay there unresponsive and unconscious, and then losing her,” Martin said.

Now, Martin wears the bracelets her daughter made for her as a wedding gift.

“I called her my lovebug. So, lovebug, I love you,” Martin said. “She’s perfect, she’s amazing, she’s beautiful and it starts on the inside.”
