Geri and Christian Horner cheer some welcome good news as their horse wins a race over the weekend.

Lift Me Up, named after the ex-Spice Girl’s 1999 No1, won a Point to Point contest in Buckinghamshire on Easter Saturday. It comes after several weeks of turmoil for the couple, who have been putting on a united front at public events. Christian was investigated by the Formula One team he leads after he was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a female member of staff. Red Bull dismissed the complaint.

Christian, 50, has spoken of “drawing a line” under the claims and said: “The scrutiny on my marriage - I’ve got a beautiful family - it’s been very trying. When there [are] children involved, and family involved, it’s not pretty. My wife has been phenomenally supportive. The intrusion on my family is enough.”

But the scandal will be covered in the Netflix series Drive to Survive, as the filmmakers were documenting the period during which the allegations were made, including their first appearance together in Bahrain.

Last week, Drive to Survive’s James Gay-Rees confirmed: “It will have to be referenced in some capacity, yeah. And they will all want it to be told in a particular way, so it’s about treading that line to keep everybody happy, and to keep Netflix happy, and us – so we can sleep at night with the decisions we’ve made.

“You have to have balance. I think Horner is looking OK for the time being, but it doesn’t feel like it’s done yet. It will all depend on how it plays out. I don’t know what he got up to – and I genuinely don’t have an opinion on it, but he’s been through it and you wouldn’t wish that on anybody.”

Geri, 51, and Christian, 50, who married in 2015, have six-year-old Monty together and one child each from previous relationships.
