There were so many birds in the sky but Guillaume managed to isolate just one individual in the ethereal fog. ‘The fog created a sort of blue immensity in which the only landmark was the reflection of the Sun. It was an intense atmosphere, constantly changing, such a feeling of freedom,’ he says.
Though clumsy on land, gannets are agile hunters in the air, circling the skies in pursuit of food. Folding their large wings back, they plummet with focused precision, often at speeds of up to 90 kilometres an hour, and splash-dive into the water to catch shoaling fish such as mackerel and herring.

Guillaume has had a passion for landscape and wildlife photography since his youth. He studied photography for four years at school. In 2015 he published Wild Lights, which focused on Scandinavian landscape and wildlife pictures at twilight and dawn. His work has also been featured in European press and at photography festivals.
