SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego County’s mountain and desert areas should expect gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Monday morning, including areas like Julian, Pine Valley and Borrego Springs.

Local meteorologists expect winds in these areas to reach speeds between 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45-55 mph. As for wind prone locations, winds could reach 60 mph.

The weather service specifically mentioned the Interstate 8 in the eastern part of the county as a location where winds may peak. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution.
