SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego County’s mountain and desert areas should expect gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Monday morning, including areas like Julian, Pine Valley and Borrego Springs.

Local meteorologists expect winds in these areas to reach speeds between 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45-55 mph. As for wind prone locations, winds could reach 60 mph.
The weather service specifically mentioned the Interstate 8 in the eastern part of the county as a location where winds may peak. Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution.

During this kind of advisory, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, as well as blow dust and sand in the deserts.
Although the weather service expects weaker winds come Sunday morning, winds are anticipated to strengthen again by Sunday afternoon and into the evening hours.
