UPDATE: 37 year-old man charged after four vehicle accident on A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road near the Fort George junction

A 37-year-old man has been charged after a four vehicle crash on the A96 near Ardersier on Thursday.

One man was taken to hospital and three others treated for injuries by paramedics at the roadside after the accident at the junction with the B9006 Croy and Cawdor road and the turn-off for Fort George.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene just before 2.45 pm and the road was “restricted” in both directions for a period of time.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 14.45pm on Thursday, 11 April, 2024 officers were called to a report of a four vehicle crash on A96 at its junctions with the B9006, Inverness.

"Emergency services attended and a 42-year-old man was taken to Raigmore Hospital as a precaution.

"A 37-year-old man was charged in connection with a road traffic offence and issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice."
