Meet Zachary Levi, 'Shazam!' star, at El Paso Comic Con on April 13

The quirky superhero and star of “Shazam!”, Zachary Levi, is headlining El Paso Comic Con 2024 after “Hellboy” actor Ron Perlman canceled, the event’s website shows.

While Comic Con runs from Friday, April 12, through Sunday, April 14, at the convention center, Levi will be in El Paso only on Saturday, April 13, to sign autographs and take photos with fans.

“We are ecstatic Zachary Levi was available,” El Paso Comic Con posted on its Instagram account.

Levi is known as the adult superhero alter ego of Billy Batson, a boy who transforms into a superhero with various powers when saying his name. Levi also had the lead role in the NBC series “Chuck” and appeared in the comedy-drama television series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Levi’s autograph will cost $100, or fans can pose with him for a selfie for $80. Professionally taken photographs will cost another $100. The actor is also scheduled to have a panel session from 2 to 3 p.m., according to the event’s website, but times are subject to change.

Levi was announced as headliner after Perlman canceled his appearance due to professional commitments, El Paso Comic Con wrote in a social media comment. The actor promised to make up his absence at a future event, the comment said.

Perlman was in the area as an honored guest at the Las Cruces Film Festival when he was given the “Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Award,” according to a press release by the festival.

Another familiar face attending the El Paso Comic Con is Patrick Warburton, who was in some iconic “Seinfeld” scenes, including the painted face and an eightball jacket.

Warburton will only be in El Paso on Friday for photo ops and autographs, which cost between $35 and $80.
