Repairs to Bicentennial Bridge start next week

Work to repair the Bicentennial Bridge starts next week.

The bridge between St. Joseph and Benton Harbor was partially shut down a few weeks ago.

M-DOT discovered a problem with the part responsible for lifting the bridge during a routine inspection.

The work is expected to take about 3 days.

The bridge remains closed to boat traffic.

Officials say it should reopen April 19th.
