A disturbance at Lake Forest Country Club April 5 led to an Acworth woman being arrested for four felonies.
Yihua Wiseman, 37, was charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers; arson in the third degree; and two counts of terroristic threats and acts.
Upon arrival around 9 p.m., the Bartow County Sheriff deputies observed a fire in the woods at the country club’s entrance. After Bartow County Fire ensured the fire was extinguished, the complainant told the BCSO deputy a woman — who lives near the club — threatened him and another individual. He also shared she allegedly started a fire by taking a roll of toilet paper, lighting it on fire and throwing it on pine straw in the woods.
The deputy tried to contact Wiseman but was not successful.
According to the BCSO incident report, “Ms. Wiseman refused to open the door and step outside to speak with deputies. She appeared to be mentally unstable and was speaking incomprehensible sentences.”
The incident report stated Wiseman was “holding multiple knives in one hand and pointing them” at the deputies as well as “yelling and cussing.” Wiseman reportedly told the deputies they “would have to come inside and get her.”
Statements were given to deputies from the victims who said they “had collected some pine straw and took it into the woodline to dump it” on the property of the Army Corps of Engineers.
“They were approached on the other side of the fence by Ms. Wiseman who was standing in the roadway and carrying a hammer,” the report stated. “She seemed upset they were dumping the pine straw and made the comment that it needed to be burned. Ms. Wiseman kept yelling at the men and they continued to tell Ms. Wiseman that she needed to mind her own business and return to her home, which is approximately 50 feet from the fenceline.”
Wiseman allegedly threatened the victims, including asking one of them — “Are you ready to meet Jesus.” As deputies came to the scene, Wiseman reportedly returned to her residence.
The victims confirmed it was Wiseman who started the fire and one of the victims had recorded evidence on her phone.
“Deputies on scene continued to attempt to make contact with Ms. Wiseman and have her step outside but she continued to refuse to cooperate even after being presented with a warrant for her arrest and a search warrant for her home,” the report stated. “Ms. Wiseman would come to the door and speak with deputies while holding knives and/or a sword to prevent and intimidate deputies from entering her home. Ms. Wiseman made the comment ‘you all will have to kill me’ several times. Patrol deputies held a perimeter until Bartow County SWAT arrived on scene and the scene was turned over to them.”
