Former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz thought playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and coach Andy Reid would be a good option for his career after he remembered what Nick Foles mentioned.
“I remember all the good things he had to say about his time here,” Wentz told reporters on Thursday after he signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs. “He absolutely loved it. He loved working with those guys, and those things he said to me back then definitely still rang true in my head as I was making this decision.”

Since getting traded to the Colts in 2021, Wentz has played for three teams and struggled to make an impact. At one point, he was considered one of the league’s most talented quarterbacks and had a bright future.
Wentz is grateful to join the Chiefs even though it’s a backup role.
“Why I’m here today is just the winning culture and seeing it from afar, seeing it around the league for the last couple of years [and admiring] it for years,” Wentz said.
“That was a big piece of the puzzle for me. The desire to be here on a winning team, in a good culture, in a good community with a good fan base seemed like a good fit.”
Perhaps Wentz can turn around his career like Foles did. Before signing with Chiefs in 2016, Foles faced an uncertain future. Sitting behind Alex Smith and learning from Reid that year gave Foles a chance to reboot.
In 2017, Foles signed with the Eagles to backup Wentz. After Wentz suffered a torn ACL, he stepped in and led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory.
