After the success of Godzilla Vs Kong, which was released in 2021, the makers are back with its grand sequel titled Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. The latest film in the Monsterverse brought the two monsters teaming up together to save the world from Titan; a frost-breathing Godzilla. The film has been doing massive numbers across the globe where it has minted about US $367 million, and India has also contributed significantly to this juggernaut.
In the first week, the film earned Rs 57.75 crore, leaving behind money spinners like Dune 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4 by a big margin.
In week two, Godilla X Kong had added another Rs 23 crore to its kitty, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 80.77 crore.
The latest monsterverse film has now gone on to beat successful films like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw ( Rs 75.85) , Avengers: Age of Ultron ( Rs 80 crore ) and Mission : Impossible: Fallout ( Rs 80.20 crore) in India, to become the 18th biggest Hollywood hit .
The response to the film in India has begun in a very enthusiastic way. 'Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire' has already clocked in more than Rs 5 crore in advance sales. The film enjoy a good run at the box office this week as both the new releases Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan have failed to attract the audience.
'Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire' features Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen. Hall, Henry, and Hottle reprise their roles from the previous installment. The storyline sees Kong discovering more of his kind in the Hollow Earth, and joining forces with Godzilla to prevent their oppressive leader and a formidable, climate-altering Titan from wreaking havoc on the surface.
