Angelina Jolie Had a Rare Night Out With Her 20-Year-Old Son Pax

While Vivienne Jolie-Pitt was photographed with her mom, Angelina Jolie, at the premiere of The Outsiders on Broadway Thursday night, she wasn't the only Jolie-Pitt sibling in the room. Vivienne's older brother Pax skipped the red carpet portion of the evening and was photographed alongside his mother after the curtain dropped, making for a sweet mini family reunion.

Pax, who generally keeps a low profile, was seen exiting the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre wearing a black tuxedo-style jacket with contrast lapels over a white T-shirt and loose-fit pants with white Converse sneakers. Jolie wore a silky bronze slip dress and a dramatic copper cape for the night.

During her time on the red carpet, Jolie debuted a new tattoo that featured the words "Stay Gold" in old-school script. The sentiment is part of the show and the Francis Ford Coppola adaptation of S.E. Hinton's 1967 novel. It's a reference to a Robert Frost poem that Ponyboy recites to Johnny when the duo are hiding out in the Windrixville Church. Jolie's sentimental ink is on her arm near some of her existing tattoos. (Jolie's a producer on the show along with her daughter, Vivienne.)

While Jolie and Pax dressed up for opening night, Vivienne was dressed down for good reason.

“Viv ended up more with Justin [Levine] than with me, so you can tell by choice of attire which team she’s on. She’s on the music, writer, and greaser team,” Jolie explained to Extra, referencing the blue jumpsuit Vivienne wore to the event. Vivienne, who is 15, is officially a production assistant, so while she did step out on the carpet with her mother, she was there to work, not have time in the spotlight.

Justin Levine, the show's composer, also spoke about Vivienne's work ethic and echoed Angelina's "greaser" comments.

"Let me tell you something about Viv. Viv is one of the greatest humans I’ve ever met and somebody who is an observer and who sees people and sees the world in a way that, you know, I think, so much about this show is reconnecting with your inner child," he said. "To have the privilege of working alongside this brilliant 15-year-old and hear her perspective and also learn the lesson of, you know, speaking when you have something to say or learning how to give energy into a space … I just think she’s one of the wisest little greasers I’ve ever met."

Of course, Pax and Vivienne aren't the only members of Jolie's large family. She and her ex, Brad Pitt, share Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, 19-year-old Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 17-year-old Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, and 15-year-old Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt. Jolie and Pitt are currently in the process of divorcing, having first filed paperwork in 2016.
