Sacramento mayor's race: Dr. Flo Cofer, Assemblymember Kevin McCarty move on to November election

Dr. Flojaune Cofer and California Assemblymember Kevin McCarty will be advancing to a runoff for mayor of Sacramento in November's general election.
As of Friday at 4 p.m., Cofer led all candidates with 29.55% of the vote.
Kevin McCarty came in second place with 21.55% of the vote.
Dr. Richard Pan, who conceded in the race on Friday afternoon, came in third place with 21.27% of the vote. Pan and McCarty were separated by just 293 votes.
"While today’s results are not what we hoped for, I am proud of the campaign we ran. I congratulate both Dr. Flo Cofer and Assemblymember Kevin McCarty for being elected to run," Pan said in a statement.
Steve Hansen, a former Sacramento City Council member, is only separated from McCarty by 550 votes but conceded earlier this week.
"The latest results were just released," Hansen said in a tweet. "Unfortunately we will not be advancing to the run off."
Cofer and McCarty will head to a runoff on Nov. 5.
