Browns Release New Numbers For 2024 Season

Organized Team Activities kicked off on Monday and we are one step closer to football being back on the shores of Lake Erie. Things are starting to pick up as we near the draft and the start of the summer session. One hint that we are making our way is the Browns releasing the official uniform numbers for the new faces. Several returning guys are also switching it up in 2024.

A few jersey numbers stand out amongst the rest.

Grant Delpit officially makes the switch from 22 to his college number, 9. Delpit spent his seasons at LSU rocking the No. 9 before switching to No. 7 signifying that he was the best player on the Tiger defense.

When he entered the league, Delpit opted to go with No. 22 during his rookie season and kept that number for the ensuing two seasons. Heading into 2024, he makes the official change back to No. 9 and will be looking to continue the great start to his career.

Rodney McLeod Jr. is changing digits from No. 26 to No. 12 for the upcoming campaign. McLeod joined the Browns last season and was a welcomed veteran addition to the team. When he tore his bicep in a win over the San Francisco 49ers, everyone thought McLeod's time in Cleveland and in the NFL was done. In a shocking turn, he re-signed with the Browns this offseason and is marking a brand new start with a new number in what may be his final NFL season.

The last new number that caught my attention is D'Onta Foreman's No. 27. It's not that it is a surprise that Kareem Hunt's time in Cleveland has come and gone, but it will be tough seeing No. 27 in the Cleveland backfield and it be someone other than Hunt. Foreman will play a similar role for the Browns that Hunt did and he is going to look similar in doing so.

OTAs and new numbers are just the next step in the offseason process as Cleveland makes its way to the 2024 NFL season.
