PHILADELPHIA (TND) — Harrowing dash camera footage shows the moments when a suspect got out of a car in traffic and fired several shots at the car behind him, according to authorities.
The Philadelphia Police Department released the video on Monday, saying they are searching for two men in connection to the case. They urged anyone who recognizes the suspects to contact authorities immediately.
Police said a 31-year-old man was seriously hurt in the shooting. He was shot in the chest and taken to an area hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The man, who has not been identified, was armed and fired back at the suspects.
Authorities said officers responded to the scene Friday around 9:40 p.m.
"Dash cam video recovered from the victim’s vehicle shows a black Nissan Murano stop at the traffic light at Old York Rd & Cheltenham Ave in front of the victim," police said in a news release. "The passenger of the Nissan Murano then exits the vehicle and walks towards the victim’s vehicle while firing several gunshots into the windshield. The suspect’s vehicle was last seen traveling north on Old York Rd into Cheltenham Township."
Authorities said the Murano displayed a white temporary paper tag. The digits 090 were on the tag, said police.
Police described both suspects, noting they are both Black men. One of the suspects was wearing a black Balaclava-style mask, a black zip-up jacket over a white shirt, black or gray pants and a black belt.
The second suspect, police said, has a heavy build, as well as a full beard. He was wearing a black skull cap, large glasses with black frames, a black hooded jacket with the Nike logo on it, as well as gray sweatpants, black and white sneakers.
Police said anyone who sees the suspects should call 911.
