On Monday, April 8, the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast shared dramatic footage of the event and said crews rescued two children and three adults after they spotted them “clinging onto” their capsized vessel on Sunday, April 7. The 18-foot boat capsized 10 miles west of Crystal River, according to the Coast Guard release. A Coast Guard helicopter, boat crew and commercial salvage crew were all involved in the rescue after spotting all five people at approximately 8:00 p.m. local time. "Our crews were able to conduct the rescue safely and efficiently with the best possible results," said Lt. Scott Kellerman, Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60T Aircraft Commander. “Emergencies at sea can happen anytime, anywhere.
