Potential Detroit Pistons Prospect Declares for 2024 NBA Draft

A potential draft pick for the Detroit Pistons officially joins the 2024 NBA Draft prospect pool.

In a few weeks, the Detroit Pistons will find out where they will be picking in the 2024 NBA Draft. On Monday afternoon, one prospect that has been mocked to them on numerous occasions officially declared to be part of the upcoming class.

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that Zaccharie Risacher submitted the necessary paperwork to become eligible for the 2024 draft. Two weeks removed from his 19th birthday, the French prospect is a 6-foot-8 forward that has shown a lot of potential on the offensive end.

Risacher has spent the past year playing for Mincidelice JL Bourg overseas. Across 17 games in the EuroCup league, he averaged 13.1 PPG and shot 56% from beyond the arc on low volume. Risacher most recently played in the Betclic Élite league, where he averaged 9.7 PPG and 3.5 RPG.

Over the past few weeks, Risacher has been mocked to be one of the first players off the board in this year’s draft. There have also been multiple iterations where the Pistons take him with a top pick.

As far as pro comps go, Risacher has received favorable ones. Some of the players his game has been compared to is Harrison Barnes and Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. When asked about what he can bring to a team at the NBA level, Risacher feels he has the potential to be a positive on both ends of the floor.

"There are a lot of things I can bring an NBA team," Risacher told ESPN. "First of all -- my No. 1 strength is my shooting. Then my defensive ability after that. And lastly, my ability to do what's asked of me, using my versatility -- I can rebound, handle the ball if needed, finish above the rim, pass the ball. Whatever you ask me to do, I will do it and do it well."

With his mix of size and shooting ability, Risacher should be in the mix of players the Pistons are considering with their lottery pick this year.
