One killed, one hurt in east Kansas City shooting

UPDATE: KCPD has identified the victim as 32-year-old Jonathan McConville.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another hurt.

The shooting happened near 27th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard around 9:30 on Wednesday night.

When police arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide, but no arrests have been made.
