Pedestrian in critical condition after hit by car in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A pedestrian is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Chula Vista Sunday night, according to police.

The collision was reported just before 10:45 p.m. at the intersection between Orange Avenue and Albany Avenue, Chula Vista police said in a release on Monday. Upon arrival to the scene, officers found a 57-year-old Chula Vista man laying unresponsive in the roadway.

Chula Vista police and fire personnel rendered first aid to the pedestrian at the scene before he was transported to a nearby trauma center. As of Monday, he remains in critical condition.

The driver was uninjured and remained on scene, according to CVPD. They have not been identified by law enforcement.
