Woman admits concealing birth of two babies in Bridgend

At Cardiff Crown Court, 30-year-old Egle Zilinskaite also pleaded guilty to two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

A woman has admitted concealing the birth of two babies in Bridgend.

Egle Zilinskaite, 30, of Crwys Road, Cardiff, also pleaded guilty to two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

The babies were found dead at an address in Maes-Y-Felin, Wildmill, Bridgend, in November 2022.

The charges span a period from 1 January 2017 to 26 November 2022.

The babies were referred to in court as Baby A and Baby B.

A 49-year-old man, Zilvinas Ledovskis, of Phoebe Road, Swansea, pleaded not guilty to all counts and will face a trial later this year.

At the Cardiff Crown Court hearing on Wednesday, the defendants spoke via a Lithuanian interpreter to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses, before entering their respective pleas.

Both defendants were released on bail.

Ledovskis will stand trial on 25 November.
