A student was arrested Wednesday night after they allegedly sent a picture on Snapchat threatening to "shoot up" Cape Coral High School and Mariner High School on Thursday.Cape Coral police say they received multiple calls saying that an unknown child used Snapchat to send out the threat.Officers met with one of the callers, a father and son, at Kurt Donaldson Community Park. The father and son had screenshots of the Snapchat threats, including a username, which was provided as well.Detectives immediately launched an investigation with School Resource Officers to gather further information before quickly identifying and locating the student responsible for the threats. The student, Tyler Coulter, 16, claimed it was a prank.NBC2 obtained one of the Snapchat posts Cape Coral police say is linked to the investigation. It shows a gun in someone's lap with the caption, "Shooting up Mariner High and Cape High tomorrow -- mark my words." Police say he made another post threatening to do a shooting in Cape Coral. The teen was arrested Wednesday night at approximately 9:20 p.m. before being transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.Coulter faces a felony charge of Written or Electronic Threats to Conduct a Mass Shooting.
