MLB Home Run Leader Tyler O’Neill Leaves Guardians-Red Sox Game After Brutal Collision
Boston Red Sox left fielder Tyler O'Neill had to leave Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians after he and third baseman Rafael Devers suffered a nasty collision in the seventh inning. Devers managed to corral the pop fly in shallow left before he whacked the back of his head into the O'Neill's face. Both player's hats went flying and each went down in obvious pain.
Devers was able to remain on the field but O'Neill departed to the locker room. The Red Sox eventually lost, 6-0.
O'Neill, who came over from the St. Louis Cardinals, entered the game leading Major League baseball with 7 home runs and a 1.209 OPS. It'd be a major loss if he missed any significant time.
