A suspect in a downtown Ann Arbor shooting last month that left a man wounded has been arrested, police said.

A 33-year-old man is in custody and scheduled to be arraigned Friday in an Ann Arbor district court on several charges, including assault with intent to murder, felonious assault, felony firearm, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, and carrying a concealed weapon, officials said.

Officials said the shooting happened March 24 in the 200 block of North Main Street near Miller Avenue. Police determined a man had been shot there but police found him in a parking lot in the 400 block of East Huron.

Medics took the victim to a hospital.

Investigators said a man and a woman in the 200 block of North Main were arguing when another man intervened.

The man who had been arguing with the woman produced a gun and shot the second man during the confrontation, police said.

Police said the wounded victim left the scene and drove about three blocks to a parking lot in the 400 block of East Huron.

They searched for the suspected shooter but were unable to find him. Police did not release a description of the suspect or further details about the incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect should call the Ann Arbor Police Department's Tip Line at (734) 794-6939 or email tips@a2gov.org.
