NOW, THE WGA NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST WITH METEOROLOGIST TJ SPRINGER GRAY GLOOMY, WET ALL THINGS YOU COULD SAY TO DESCRIBE THE LAST FEW DAYS. AND IT LOOKS LIKE TODAY WE’RE NOT GOING TO STRAY AWAY FROM THAT. IF YOU’VE BEEN OUT AND ABOUT, YOU’VE SEEN THE GRAY CONDITIONS. MORE RAIN NOW INBOUND ON LIVE LOCAL EIGHT AND THE STORM TEAM LIVE RADAR NETWORK. THANKS TO THIS STORM SYSTEM, STILL AFFECTING US, STILL SWIRLING OFF TO OUR NORTH. I’LL SHOW YOU IN A MOMENT. BUT LOCALLY SPEAKING, WE CAN SEE SOME MORE MODERATE BURSTS OF RAIN, SOME DOWNPOURS GETTING THROUGH SOME OF PERRY COUNTY, AND MORE OUT CLOSER TO I 99. A GOOD LITTLE DOWNPOUR HERE JUST TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF LANCASTER HERE. SO WATCH OUT. PLACES LIKE PARADISE STRONG, STRASBURG AND WE CAN SEE SOME MORE MOISTURE ACROSS YORK COUNTY ALONG I-83, BUT THE HEAVIEST STILL TO OUR WEST. THERE’S THAT MASSIVE CIRCULATION COUNTERCLOCKWISE IN THIS AREA OF LOW PRESSURE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK THROUGH DURING THE EVENING DURING THE OVERNIGHT, WHICH WILL REINTRODUCE MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS TO THE VALLEY. LOOK AT THIS COOL VIEW IN LEBANON, YOU CAN SEE THAT RAIN COMING DOWN AS WE’RE GLANCING SOUTHBOUND. THAT’S THE SHOWERS THAT ARE IMPACTING US NOW. NOW, ACROSS SOME OF LEBANON COUNTY, SOUTHERN LEBANON COUNTY, AND IN LANCASTER. SO TRAVEL CAREFULLY. MAY HAVE TO GET THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND THE UMBRELLA. NOT A BAD IDEA TO HAVE WITH YOU IF YOU’RE PLANNING ON GRABBING SOME DINNER, OR MAYBE HEADING OUT FOR SOME ERRANDS. THE OTHER STORY IS THE WIND GUSTING UP BEYOND 30MPH. NEARLY 35. IN LANCASTER, LEBANON AND CARLISLE AND GETTYSBURG AND FOR REALLY MOST OF US USUALLY THAT WIND IS A WARMER BREEZE FOR US CAN HELP BRING OUR TEMPERATURES UP. BUT THE CLOUDS TODAY DIDN’T ALLOW IT. 63 IN GETTYSBURG, 60. IN THE CAPITAL CITY, WE HAVE 61. IN LANCASTER, ONLY 52, THOUGH HEADING NORTHWESTWARD TOWARD LEWISTOWN, OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS, MID TO UPPER 50 IS DEALING WITH THE HIT OR MISS SHOWERS THROUGH THE EVENING THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT, BECOMING MORE WIDESPREAD AND THE WIND STARTS TO PICK UP AS WELL. WE’LL DIP BACK INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 40S, WHICH IS ABOVE NORMAL BUT STILL CLOSE TO AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. THEN TOMORROW WE ARE EXPECTING MORE SUNSHINE LATE AS THIS SYSTEM DEPARTS, BUT WITH THAT DIFFERENCE IN PRESSURE GOING TO BE GUSTY AND THAT’S WHY WE HAVE THE IMPACT DAY. TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE COOLER TOO. IN THE MIDDLE 50S TO NEAR 60. HERE’S PREDICTOR AS WE TIME THINGS OUT, WE CAN SEE THAT RAIN MOVING IN. AND IT’S GOING TO BE MORE WIDESPREAD THROUGH LATE TONIGHT INTO THE WEE HOURS OF OUR SATURDAY. IT STARTS TO DEPART MAY HAVE A STRAY SHOWER LINGERING EARLY TOMORROW, BUT THE BIGGER CONCERN IS GOING TO BE THE WIND. BUT IT’S A WIN THAT COMES IN FROM THE WEST NORTHWEST, BRINGING IN DRIER AIR. SO SOME SUNSHINE RETURNS LATER IN THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING. WIND ADVISORIES IN EFFECT FROM NOW THROUGH 6:00 TOMORROW, INCLUDING FRANKLIN COUNTY UP THROUGH MIFFLIN COUNTY. THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS, THE RIDGETOPS, THOSE SPOTS COULD SEE AN EXPERIENCE. THE HIGHER GUSTS MOST AROUND 45, BUT I WOULDN’T BE SHOCKED IF THAT ADVISORY DOES GET EXPANDED. AND I THINK THE STRONGEST WIND GOING TO BE EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON TOMORROW, AND THAT COULD LEAD TO SOME DOWNED LIMBS, SOME SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES. SO IF YOU’RE OUT AND ABOUT TRAVELING, CERTAINLY WANT TO STAY WEATHER AWARE NOW ON SUNDAY ON THE NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM TEN DAY, IT’S DRIER, MUCH WARMER BACK INTO THE MID 70S. BUT ANOTHER SYSTEM DOES BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME SHOWERS AND RUMBLES LATE IN THE DAY. CAN’T COMPLETELY RULE OUT A ROGUE STRONGER STORM, BUT I THINK OUR CHANCES ARE PRETTY SLIM AT THAT. BUT THEN LOOK WHERE WE’RE HEADED. MONDAY TUESDAY, MID 70S A NICE AMOUNT OF SUNSHINE, BUT THAT DEVELOPS AHEAD OF ANOTHER UNSETTLED STRETCH. TRACKING THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME MORE SHOWERS THERE. BRIAN. IMPACT: Gusty wind Saturday, milder and calmer Sunday

A strong system has been impact the region for the last few days and that holds into the weekend. It'll be drier but blustery! It's an IMPACT DAY. T.J. Springer has the latest.

A strong storm system is still swirling across the region, bringing hit or miss showers and blustery wind. This trend holds into the evening and overnight as the potent upper-low swings in. As the wave moves east, we'll see more widespread showers tonight. A couple showers linger into early Saturday but it's looking much drier and eventually brighter. The wind becomes stronger tomorrow though, as this low departs! The gusty conditions have made Saturday an IMPACT DAY, with the potential to reach 45 mph or so. The ridgetops could possibly rise to around 50 mph. That's where we have a Wind Advisory in effect, until 6 PM Saturday. This includes Franklin and Mifflin County. This system continues to work away from the Valley and high pressure builds. Clearing develops through the afternoon and evening with the help of that NW wind. It settles down tomorrow night with a starry sky on tap. We'll start with sunshine Sunday but clouds bubble up in the heating of the day. Temps rebound nicely too with highs surging back into the 70s. The warmth streams in ahead of a system that brings hit or miss showers and storms later in the evening into the overnight. There is a low-end threat of severe weather but it depends on the instability in the air. It's looking like we'll have a cap in play that inhibits those stronger storms but we'll be watching. Behind this system, drier air takes over into next week with temps staying mild. Afternoon readings hold in the 70s with some upper-ridging developing. An unsettled stretch unfolds midweek onwards though as another system impact us. A warm front lifts in on Wednesday with hit or miss showers or rumbles on the table. The cold front then looks to move in Thursday into Friday. We hold onto the threat of showers Friday into the following week as the upper-low moves through the region. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday fall below normal with highs topping out around 60.Have a great night!-T.J.
