MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTVO) — The discovery of a severed leg in a Milwaukee park led police to arrest a man now charged with killing and dismembering a 19-year-old woman.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found the body part on the beach in Warnimont Park around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2nd.

Sade Robinson was reported missing around 9 p.m. the same day.

Later that evening, the fire department was called to 29th and Lisbon for a vehicle fire, which belonged to Maxwell Anderson, 33.

According to police, investigators were able to use cellphone data and surveillance footage to discover what happened to Robinson.

Investigators were able to tie texts from Robinson’s phone to Anderson, officials said.

Police said Anderson and Robinson met for a first date on April 1st at the Twisted Fisherman seafood restaurant on Canal Street, FOX 6 Now reported.

From there, GPS tracking data showed Robinson’s phone later traveled to Anderson’s residence near 39th and Oklahoma.

The phone registered movement between Anderson’s home and Warnimont Park between 2 and 3 a.m. the following morning.

Her car was found burned just after 7:30 a.m. near 29th and Lisbon, according to CBS 58.

Police conducted a search warrant at Anderson’s home on April 4th and found blood on bedding in one of the bedrooms, and on walls in the basement.

Then, on Saturday, April 6th, a human foot was found during a search in the area of 31st and Galena.

According to the criminal complaint, prosecutors said “the defendant intentionally killed and then dismembered Robinson with the intent to conceal the homicide.”

Anderson was subsequently charged with first degree murder, mutilating a corpse, and arson of a property other than a building.
