Duck Donuts announces grand opening in Prairie Village on Saturday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Duck Donuts, a made-to-order donut shop, announced its plans to open its Prairie Village storefront doors to the public on Saturday.
Located in Corinth Square at 4002 West 83rd Street the small business is the second location for the franchise owners, Katie and Ryan McNeil, a husband-and-wife-duo.

“We are thrilled and delighted to bring Duck Donuts back to the Old Leawood and Prairie Village area,” said Ryan McNeil. “We’re also excited to open in Corinth Square and partnering with our new neighbors like Summer Salt Ice Cream and The Learning Tree for events and exciting promotions.”
The McNeil’s plan to celebrate the grand opening by offering a prize to the first guest in line on Saturday. The person will receive a dozen of free donuts per month for a year. Other gifts and prizes will be awarded all grand opening weekend long, the release said.
Donuts at this shop will be made fresh to order every day of the week, with Mondays and Tuesdays open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays through Sundays open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
According to the release, the shop offers customers a “create their own donut combination” with a “variety of coatings, toppings and drizzles, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon.”
Although the word “donuts” is in the name, it doesn’t mean that is all the menu has to offer.

The shop also sells its signature coffee blend, donut sundaes, donut sandwiches, frozen drinks, milkshakes, retail items and more.
While building the Prairie Village shop, the new design was intentionally chosen to “enhance the customer experience.” The franchise’s iconic beach theme, which reflects the coastal town of Duck and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina — where the company was founded — was also maintained, but modernized for customers.
