Father announces young siblings rescued from house fire have died: ‘Our heart aches’
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (Gray News) – Two brothers who were pulled from a burning house have died days after the April 10 fire, according to their father.
Jamey Brice shared a Facebook message on Monday morning that said his sons, 3-year-old Zachariah and 6-year-old William, died from the fire.
“Our heart aches because we want them here, but we have a strong hope knowing that we will see them again and will do our best to share their legacy of love, and joy and encouragement for everyone they met,” Jamey Brice wrote.
The two children were initially trapped inside when their home on Whetstone Manor Court in Clifton, Virginia, caught fire on April 10, according to the Fairfax County Fire Department.
Fire officials also confirmed the deaths on Monday, stating the origin and cause of the deadly blaze remain under investigation.
Three additional people were hospitalized as a result of the fire, according to family and officials.
By Monday afternoon, more than $168,000 was raised for the family through a GoFundMe page.
