The Broncos make a snappy free agent signing

The Denver Broncos on Thursday signed unrestricted free agent center Sam Mustipher to a one-year contract, it was announced.

Mustipher (6-2, 332 pounds) is a fifth-year player from the University of Notre Dame who has started 42-of-52 games played with Chicago (2020-22) and Baltimore (2023). With the Ravens last season, he appeared in nine games (2 starts) and played in 202 snaps on offense and 17 snaps on special teams.

Originally signed by the Bears as a college free agent in 2019, Mustipher spent his rookie campaign competing on Chicago’s practice squad after playing in 47 games (37 starts) at Notre Dame. From 2020-22 with the Bears, he made appearances in 43 regular-season games (40 starts) and also started one postseason contest in 2020.

A native of Owings Mills, Md., Mustipher was born on Aug. 13, 1996.
