KCFD firefighter facing felony charges for allegedly urinating on co-worker's property

A Kansas City Fire Department firefighter is facing multiple felony criminal charges for allegedly urinating on a co-worker's property inside a fire station near the Kansas City International Airport. On Wednesday, Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd announced that Pleaze Robinson III, a KCFD firefighter, had been charged with first-degree harassment and first-degree property damage in connection with the Sept. 10, 2023, incident. The 56-year-old is believed to be the same firefighter who pleaded guilty to assault in 2019 for a Raytown road rage beating.KMBC 9 has reached out to KCFD and is waiting to hear back about Robinson's current employment status with the departmentThe alleged harassment occurred after a KCFD medic, who is not being identified, returned to the firehouse from injury leave.According to court documents, at about 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, the medic noticed a strange smell in her office space, which she then realized was urine. Her office space was located in a medical storage closet that the medic had converted into a work area. The items were wet, and when she soaked some of the liquid with a white paper towel, the towel turned yellow.The medic reported that a CD player, boogie board, and medic training books had been urinated on. The items were estimated to be worth nearly $3,000. When investigators asked about possible suspects, the medic said she had experienced previous issues with Robinson and another firefighter.Robinson was later tied to the incident after liquid found in the CD player was tested for his DNA at the Kansas City Police Crime Laboratory. According to court records, the DNA results allegedly provided strong support that Robinson contributed that DNA. Robinson was charged with first-degree harassment for allegedly purposely causing emotional distress to the victim, in addition to the property damage charge for the items mentioned above. Both crimes are class E felonies and are punishable by up to four years in prison. A warrant has been issued for Robinson's arrest. His bond is currently set at $10,000. "The allegations in this case are disturbing. It's very troubling that a firefighter who is supposed to serve the public is accused of harassing a co-worker in such a distressing way, "Zahnd said,The charges against Robinson remain accusations at this time. He remains innocent until proven guilty.
