ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The fourth anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed and although many things have remained the same, businesses are still feeling the pandemic’s aftershock.

According to Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce President Caitlin Pusateri, the lockdown pressured many into working from home, but things have changed.

Now, Pusateri says many companies are flexible about being in the office and stabilizing new workplace cultures.

Pusateri says the shift to “new” business has placed more value on a positive work-life balance.

“What we’ve figured out is that there’s nothing like being with a person in a room next to them, you can understand their body language a little bit more, you can kind of feed off of their energy,” Pusateri said. “Zoom calls have their time and place, great for quick meetings, great for when you really need to get things done.”
