Buffalo Bills' Rival Kansas City Chiefs Sign Rugby Star Louis Rees-Zammit

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed former Rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit to their roster.

The Kansas City Chiefs have added the latest piece to their Super Bowl puzzle as they look to complete an historic three-peat. ... with the Buffalo Bills hoping for a quick roster reload that might allow them to keep pace.

KC's latest transaction isn't exactly on the same level with the trade-away of Stefon Diggs. Indeed, this isn't one too many NFL fans will be familiar with as former rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has signed with the Chiefs per Bleacher Reports Jordan Schultz.

Rees-Zammit made the decision to step away from rugby prior to the Six Nations tournament in 2024 as he wanted to chase his NFL dream. The former winger was a member of the International Player Pathway Program and has impressed scouts during his 10-day stint. So much so that the Chiefs have signed him to a contract and he is now the newest member of the roster.

Thought to be able to play in a variety of offensive positions as running back, receiver and punt returner, all reportedly are on the table for Rees-Zammit, the Chiefs could be getting a versatile player who could add something different to their offense.

Age is also on Rees-Zammit's side as being only 23, there is plenty of time for the former Wales winger to get his feet underneath him in the NFL and work on his craft.

Per planetrugby.com, Rees-Zammit ran an impressive 4.44 for the 40-yard dash and was left less than impressed by his time, which suggests that the winger has some serious speed to burn.

With Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid famously known for bringing in unique plays and formations, it is easy to envision Rees-Zammit getting on the field for some offensive snaps in 2024.
