Our city recently hosted two major events in Southern Nevada: the Super Bowl and the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Both of these events brought in a great deal of revenue for our valley.

According to Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO Steve Hill, the Super Bowl was only expected to bring in more than $600 million to our economy but actually brought in more than a billion.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix brought $900 million from the race.

The Super Bowl could come back to our city in the future, but Formula One is already on the horizon.

Hill says locals will not have to deal with the same headaches as before.

"This year should be much less disruptive to the community. We don't have to build the circuit again, so it'll be a much-condensed setup and tear-down in comparison to the first year, and it's going to take a few years in order to get this right, but I know Formula One's committed to doing that, and the community is as well," said Hill.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the Super Bowl could come back to Las Vegas as early as 2028.

Formula One is already scheduled and will take off on Nov. 23.
