Best in DFW: People’s Choice returns for a fourth year to celebrate top local businesses

Nominations begin soon and you can help showcase the companies that make our area great.

April 15 may not be a day many people look forward to – until now. Instead of dealing with the stresses of Tax Day, head to bestindfw.com instead. That’s the day a full month of nominations kicks off for the 4th annual Best in DFW: People’s Choice awards program. Shining a spotlight on the noteworthy businesses in North Texas that make Dallas-Fort Worth such a fantastic place to live, work and vacation begins with you.

If you have a favorite place to grab a juicy burger or platter of tacos, we want to know about it. Your go-to spots for singing karaoke, sipping on martinis and getting your pooch pampered? We need those too. In fact, with 13 major categories and nearly 300 hyper-focused subcategories, readers like you play a key role in making sure our region’s best individuals and businesses get a little moment in the sun.

Start thinking about which service providers make day-to-day living so much more enjoyable within this year’s main categories: Eat & Drink, Education, Entertainment, Establishments, Health & Beauty, Home & Garden, Hotels, Legal, Motors, Real Estate, Services, Shopping and Things to Do. Then come back between Monday, April 15, and Wednesday, May 15, to nominate all your favorites.

Once we tally and organize all the nominations, voting commences on June 1 and runs the entire month. Feel free to cast a ballot every day (once daily per person, per device) to help boost your favorites. The competition gets stiffer each year and this year promises to be the biggest battle of the best we’ve ever hosted.

Who will win their category for the fourth year running? Which newcomers will snatch victory from the current title holders? How many places that you nominated will take home the No. 1 spot? These questions and so many more will all be answered as the final winners and runners-up are revealed on Sunday, Oct. 20, in a special online section and glossy print edition inside The Dallas Morning News.

Until then, seriously, if you haven’t started your taxes, maybe now’s the time to check last year’s winners to find a good accountant.
