“The Amazing Race 36” is back on the road. Here is everything you need to know about the new season.
Is “The Amazing Race” returning for Season 36?
Yes. You never had to worry about a 36th season because it has existed since 2022. Let us explain. Season 36 was chronologically filmed as the 35th season in October and November 2022. The installment that aired last fall as Season 35 was the 36th to be filmed, in June and July 2023. This happened because, in May, CBS expanded “The Amazing Race” to 90-minute episodes for fall 2023, but since the season that filmed in 2022 was mostly edited, producers decided to put that one on the backburner and film the summer 2023 season with 90-minute episodes in mind.

Who is in “The Amazing Race 36” cast?
There are 13 teams again. Meet them here or in the gallery above. The most high-profile racer is former NFL wide receiver Rod Gardner, who is competing with his wife, Leticia.
Where will “The Amazing Race 36” visit?
Season 36 kicks off in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Since production occurred before COVID-19 restrictions were loosened, the season primarily takes place in South America and does not hit Europe. Teams will visit two continents and eight countries, including Colombia, Argentina and Chile. The show will make first-time stops in Dominican Republic, where racers will swim through waterfalls, and Barbados, where they’ll go to Rihanna‘s childhood home. The finish line is in Philadelphia. Like Seasons 33 and 34, Season 36 features a chartered plane, implemented in the wake of COVID (the aired Season 35 returned to commercial flights).
Hang tight my friend … booking flights will be back as soon as the 'return to work' Covid protocols are off our back. Right now having a charter = @AmazingRaceCBS on TV … no charter = no @AmazingRaceCBS on TV. Lets stay focused on what's good in the world:) https://t.co/qLEXXJcKux

What are the twists on “The Amazing Race 36”?
Once again, there will be no non-elimination legs. Season 35 brought back the Express Pass and turned the U-Turn into a vote, but since that season filmed after Season 36, it’s unlikely these elements will be part of this season.
When is “The Amazing Race 36” finale?
The 90-minute finale will air on Wednesday, May 15 at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.
