Dancing on Ice fans hoping for a worthy Sunday night replacement to the popular skating show were left disappointed on Sunday night when, rather than using the vacant slot in the schedule to air something new, ITV showed an old episode of Tipping Point.

After a 'too close to call' series, Dancing on Ice came to an end last weekend, with some unexpected drama ahead of the finale, when second favourite to win, Greg Rutherford, was forced to pull out after being injured in rehearsals. Greg ended up in hospital, while the other three finalists, Ryan Thomas, Adele Roberts and Miles Nazaire, battled it out for the title.

Having been outsider to win with the bookies, ex Coronation Street star and Celebrity Big Brother champion Ryan became the latest Dancing on Ice champion, having scored a perfect 40/40 for his Showcase skate, alongside pro partner Amani Fancy, before going onto perform his version of Torvill & Sean's iconic Bolero. Red hot tip to triumph Miles ended up finishing second, having had a costly fall in his opening skate, as Adele finished third.

Dancing on Ice has been a massive ratings winner for ITV in the past, but, having suffered its lowest audience earlier for an episode earlier on in the series, ranked up an average of just 2.1 million for the March 10 decider, following reports that there were 'doubts' over its future.

With the programme done and dusted for 2024 and no official announcement on what would replace it in the Sunday evening primetime slot, viewers were left to wonder what would fill the vacant 6.30-8pm space and the answer was Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, which aired after Deal or no Deal was scrapped at the last minute, due to the FA Cup tie between Manchester United and Liverpool went to extra time.

However, as host Ben Shephard appeared on screen with celebs like Tony Blackburn and Megan McKenna, it didn't take long for people watching at home to realise it was a repeat. Unimpressed and taking to X, one questioned: "is this a repeat? as another reacted: "Tipping point is utter s**t. I have no idea how this still exists in prime time television "
