South Barrington cops getting pay raises
South Barrington police officers will get pay raises under a new four-year contract.
The village board approved the pact with the union representing full-time patrol officers last week. Sergeants, part-time officers and other police personnel aren’t covered by the contract.
Officers had been working without a contract since June 2022. Negotiations began before the contract expired, Mayor Paula McCombie said.
The contract applies for up to 14 officers.
Officers will get a 3.5% pay raise retroactive to 2022 and another 3.5% raise retroactive to 2023, McCombie said. A 3.25% salary bump will be effective June 1, and another 3.25% raise will be effective in June 2025.
