Police: Motorcyclist seriously injured in west Columbus crash

Police did not provide a description of the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle on the city's west side Sunday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to West Broad Street at Rhodes Park on a report of a crash just before 5:35 p.m.

Police said a motorcycle was traveling west on West Broad Street and was hit by a vehicle as it was turning onto the road from Rhodes Park. The vehicle did not stay at the scene.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital but is expected to survive.

Police did not provide a description of the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist.

The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
