Richard Berglund, a neighbor who discovered the bloody scene at a Woodland Hills apartment complex, reported the incident. "I called 911 and I said something bad has happened here, and they connected me with an EMT," said Berglund. Berglund's daughter had heard screaming from the unit next door around 4 a.m. Monday. Other neighbors reported hearing an enraged woman yelling. Police suspect Danielle Johnson, the girlfriend of Jaelen Chaney, the deceased man found in the apartment, was responsible for his death. She allegedly stabbed Chaney during an argument and then fled with her two daughters in her SUV, crashing through the apartment's garage gate.Johnson, an astrology influencer, had posted about "spiritual warfare" tied to Monday's total solar eclipse before the incident. Lt. Guy Golan of the LAPD described the horrifying moment on the freeway as the 34-year-old mother attempted to flee. "She then opened the passenger door herself and then pushed the 9-year-old girl and infant out of the vehicle," said Lt. Golan. The infant, an 8-month-old girl, was hit and killed by oncoming traffic on the 405 freeway. Johnson's 9-year-old daughter survived the incident. Raul Macarigoes, a neighbor who knew the family, expressed his sorrow. "That breaks my heart. The little one lost the life that way," said Macarigoes. Johnson was later found dead in Redondo Beach after her SUV hit a tree at over 100 miles per hour. Police are investigating whether the crash was intentional. Jody Berglund, another neighbor, shared her concern for the surviving child. "My heart is with that little girl. I hope to God she's got family, some place that's taking care of her," said Jody Berglund. The 9-year-old girl, the sole survivor and only witness to the events, is expected to survive. She has reportedly told medical staff what she saw. Police have stated that there were no prior incidents of domestic violence reported between Johnson and the deceased man, identified as Jaelen Chaney, a U.S. Air Force veteran. It remains unclear if Chaney was the father of the infant who died.
