With New Braunfels ISD’s upcoming $313 million bond election in May, voters will determine if the district’s new Long Creek High School will have its own stadium and whether to approve phase two of New Braunfels High School’s reconstruction.

The board of trustees called the bond election during the February board meeting.

Please vote a resounding No to the bond initiative for a $40 million high school (yes high school) football stadium.

Absolutely ridiculous that money is being spent again to put this before the voters who voted it down just 2 years ago.

I guess the thinking is now that we have all the deep pocket Californians moving in, might as well give it another go!

I don't care that there's no effective tax increase. The point is it is not needed. If growth is as expected in Comal County, then true prudent planning would work toward a district-wide stadium complex. Is every school that needs to be built going to get its own multi-million dollar complex? Is that the expectation we want to teach the kids?

Well, I voted for all of these. It’s a lot of money. I would much rather increase the salaries of our teachers. Too bad we can’t do that. Our schools are important. What’s more important, building a Taj Mahal stadium or having the best teachers in the country? I still voted for all three bonds.
