SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in police custody after officers say she shot her ex-boyfriend when an argument got physical while he was trying to retrieve some of his belongings from a west-side ome.

San Antonio Police responded to Big Rock Drive near Marbach Road around 10:26 p.m. Saturday night for reports of a shooting in progress.

Police say a man was trying to get some items from a woman at her home when they began to argue and the woman claims the man started to hit her. She pulled out a gun and shot the man, police say. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police detained the woman while investigators continue their investigation.

Police say the couple had been in a relationship which had ended. It is unclear if the woman is facing any charges at this time.

No other injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
