When are the 2025 Oscars?
The 2025 Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025. This is a week earlier than the 2024 ceremony which took place on the second Sunday of March rather than the first.

When are the 2025 Oscar nominations announced?
Nominations will be announced bright and early on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. This gives voters (and cinephiles) about a month and a half to watch the nominated movies that you've missed.
What movies are eligible to be nominated?
Every movie that was released in theaters between Jan. 1, 2024 and Dec. 31, 2024 is eligible. Movies that debut on streaming platforms are only eligible if they have a qualifying run in theaters as well.
