Man killed in Montgomery County three-vehicle crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday night.
According to police, the crash occurred on Interstate 81 northbound, one tenth of a mile from Route 177 in Montgomery County.
Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was travelling north and rear-ended a Kenworth tractor trailer. The driver of the Silverado pulled over to the guardrail and exited the vehicle when he was struck with an oncoming car.
The driver of the Silverado was identified as Brandon Lee Williston, 30 of Christiansburg; he was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
