Chiefs news: Andy Reid introduces coaching staff for the 2024 season

In a league where parity reigns, the Kansas City Chiefs have figured out how to somehow circumvent the norms to create the next great dynasty. Much of that comes down to their ability to maintain consistent leadership in the face of so much change.

That trend will apparently continue into the 2024 NFL season as the Chiefs announced their official coaching staff for the upcoming year. As it stands, it looks largely like the same staff that led the team to Super Bowl wins in each of the last two seasons.

The only coaching changes for the Chiefs are found on the defensive side of the ball this year.

If a three-peat is ever going to happen in the NFL, keeping the band together is a good bet and the Chiefs have done exactly that at the highest levels of coaching. Head coach Andy Reid is obviously back as head coach. Both coordinators are also returning with Matt Nagy and Steve Spagnuolo on the offensive and defensive sides, respectively, along with special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Dave Toub.

In terms of changes, Ken Flajole has retired from coaching which left an opening for a positional coach for the team's outside linebackers. Former defensive assistant Rod Wilson has been promoted to Flajole's old role from defensive assistant. That set in motion a series of dominoes that promoted Alex Whittingham to Wilson's spot.

The new face on staff is Louie Addazio, who comes in as a defensive quality control assistant after spending the last few years in the college coaching ranks with Ohio State, Bowling Green, Colorado State, and Texas A&M.
