Sparta area Boy Scouts hold 'Scouting for Food' drive

15 scouts from four different troops went door-to-door around Sparta collecting non-perishable food items for the Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry.

"Just seeing the smiles on the scouts as they come back with food in their vehicles. They're learning to give back by participating in this event, and there are people in need," said Doug Dengel, Assistant Scout Master for Troop 67

The drive was able to collect 24 shopping carts, or an estimated 2,400 ponds of food.
