Scouts BSA Troop 370 kicked off the spring season on March 16 with a 12-mile backpacking trip that took the scouts through the scenic trails of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, Little Sam’s Trail and Flat Laurel Creek Trail, culminating in the summit of the majestic Sam’s Knob.
“Standing atop Sam’s Knob, looking out over the mountains, was an unforgettable experience,” said Assistant Scoutmaster Zachary Carver. “It’s moments like these that truly embody the spirit of scouting — adventure, exploration and personal growth.”
The Troop has other activities planned throughout the summer: BSA Bass Tournament at Lake Fontana, a camporee at Camp Daniel Boone, Scout Night at the Asheville Tourists game, a fly fishing excursion, biking trip on the Virginia Creeper Trail in Abingdon, Virginia, and summer camp at Camp Daniel Boone.
The scouts of Troop 370 are discovering their own potential and building a foundation of skills, values and friendships that will last a lifetime.
